Main-Rite Sandwiches

Submitted by: JENNIW70

Introduction

This is supposed to taste like the Maid-Rite, loosemeat sandwiches, which I've never had. But I also think this tastes very similar to White Castle hamburgers.
I actually added more worcestershire sauce than the recipe said. Very good.

You can use leaner meat, for less calories and fat.

Directions

Place the beef and onion in a 4-qt. saucepan over medium heat. Cook until beef is completely cooked through but not browning, 8 to 9 minutes, constantly mashing the beef with a potato masher in order to break the pieces into the smallest possible. Add remaining ingredients and continue to simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir meat for 2 to 3 minutes (can use a hand mixer). Serve on hamburger buns with ketchup, mustard, pickles, and cheese if desired (these are not reflected in nutritional info).
