4 cups whole wheat pastry flour 1 tsp salt 5 tsp Rumford Baking Powder 1/4 cup canola or light olive oil 2 cups non-fat milk
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Sift dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle oil over the top of the dry ingredients then rub it in until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Make a well in the center then pour the milk into it. Fold the milk and dry mixture together just until blended. Drop biscuits by the 1/4 cup measure into a hot 12 inch skillet that has been sprayed with non-stick spray. Bake in 400 degree oven for about 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes about 16 biscuits.
