Lazy Cabbage Rolls

Introduction

I really enjoy this "comfort food" on a cold, rainy day. I really enjoy this "comfort food" on a cold, rainy day.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 lb ground beef
    1 tbsp cooking oil
    1 chopped onion
    1 tsp salt
    1/8 tsp pepper
    3 tbsp raw long grain rice
    1 10 oz can tomato soup
    3 cups coarsely chopped cabbage

Directions

In large frying pan sear the beef in oil for a minute or two, add onion, salt, pepper and rice. Mix well while gently sauteeing for two to three minutes. Add soup and water. Mix well. Turn cabbage into a greased 13 by 9 inch baking dish or casserole dish. Pour meat mixture evenly over raw cabbage. Do not stir. Bake covered for 1 1/2 hours at 325 to 350 degrees.

  • Can't wait to try this tonight. Will use fresh garlic too while cooking beef and onion. Nanafeye5, did you use the Rotel in addition to the soup or just the Rotel. Karinst, it does not list the water, I am assuming that it's is the amount of water you would use to dilute the soup - 2/26/13
