Slow cooker stew.

Ingredients

    1.5 lbs beef stew meat
    1 medium onion, chopped
    4 carrots, pleeled and cut into bite sized pieces
    2 ribs celery, cut into bite sized pieces
    4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into bite sized pieces
    1 28-oz can whole tommatoes, undrained
    1 10.5-oz can beef broth
    1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    2 Tablespoons parsley flakes
    1 bay leaf
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    2 Tablespoons quick cooking tapioca (to thicken)

Directions


Brown beef cubes. Combine remaining ingredients, stirring to blend. Cover and slow cook at setting #3 for 8 hours or #4 for 4-5 hours. Reduce heat to serve. Makes 6 servings.

Use low sodium broth, tomatoes and omit salt to lower sodium content
