Zesty Low-Fat Tuna Melt

Submitted by: KM03MOM

Introduction

This is a low-fat, high protein, open faced tuna melt that is great for a satisfying lunch. My husband introduced me to the combination of salsa and tuna and I've made my own variation to accomodate my diet preferences. Hope you like it too! Ingredients

1 - 6oz can of chunk light tuna in water
1/4 to 1/2 cup of salsa (your preference)
2 oz of low-fat cheddar or colby (or your preference)
2 slices of whole wheat bread

Directions

Toast your bread. While bread is toasting, mix together tuna and salsa to your desired consistency (I like salsa so I use a half cup with a 6oz can of tuna. Just use what tastes good to you), and slice or shred the cheese. Turn your oven to broil. When toast is done, put tuna mix on the toast and top with cheese. Broil until cheese is melted and tuna is warm. Enjoy!
