Topping: 1/4 cup brown sugar 2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Batter: 2 T butter softened 3/4 cup sugar 2 large eggs 1 1/ 5 cups buttermilk 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 cups whole wheat flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt
Combine topping ingredients and set aside. For cake, creak butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Add eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract, mix well. Combine flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture and mix just until combined and pour into a greased 9x13 baking pan. Sprinkle with the topping and bake at 350' for 35 min, or until cake tests done. yield 12 servings.
