Kraut ranza

Introduction

A German eat pocket, great with mustard or ketchup. A staple at any German festival. A German eat pocket, great with mustard or ketchup. A staple at any German festival.
Number of Servings: 18

Ingredients

    1 box Pillsbury Hot Roll Mix
    1lb ground beef
    3/4 lb cabbage small chop
    1/2 lb onion small chop
    1 can sauerkraut drained
    salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Prepare the hot roll mix according to directions and let rise.
Brown ground beef
Saute onion and cabbage, mix with browned ground beef and sauerkraut. This will be your filling.
When the dough is done rising punch is down and divide into 2 equal parts.
Roll out each part into a 12in by 12 in square and cut into 9 4in squares so you will have a total of 18.
The dough is stretchy so it is ok if it is not perfect.
place about 1/4 cup of meat mixture in to the center of each square. Pinch together opposite corners of dough until completely sealed and place rounded side up on a greased baking dish.

Bake at 375 for 20 min. you can brush a little melted butter on the tops if you wish.

Makes 18. Wonderful fresh out of the oven, save well in fridge or freezer.
