Tracy's Split pea Soup

Ingredients

    2 tbs olive oil
    1 onion diced
    16 oz ham
    4 bay leaves
    3 quarts water (12 cups)
    16 oz split peas
    1 dried thyme

Directions

1- Boil ham in water for 1 hour
2- cut up onion and ham and add o boiling 12 cups boiling water.
3- add thyme and bay beaf and split peas and simmer till thick.
