Introduction

Seasame crusted seared Ahi tuna over a bed of spinach with a teriyaki soy glaze. I suggest using low sodium teriyaki and soy sauce. Seasame crusted seared Ahi tuna over a bed of spinach with a teriyaki soy glaze. I suggest using low sodium teriyaki and soy sauce.

Ingredients

    4 oz Ahi Tuna
    1 cup spinach
Seasame seeds (just enough to coat the tuna)
    Olive oil (for cooking)
    Black pepper to taste
    2tbs teriyaki sauce
    1tbs soy sauce
    garlic (to taste)
    green onion
    cilantro
    lime

Directions

Makes 1 serving

Let the tuna sit out for about 20 min. after you take it out of the fridge. On a plate spread out the seasame seeds and add just enough black pepper to taste. Coat the tuna in the seasame seeds. Bring a pan to a medium-high heat. Add a little bit of olive oil, when it starts to barely smoke add the tuna. Cook about a minute and a half on each side.

Combine the teriyaki and soy sauce and garlic in a pot over medium heat. Let the sauce thicken to a consistancy of your liking. Add the cilantro, green onion, and lime juice, Stir.

Serve on a bed of fresh spinach with the tuna sliced and drizzle the sauce on top.
