2 tbs cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

4 -5 assorted apples, chopped ( you can or can't peel them - entirely up to you - I prefer the color the peel adds)
    enough water to cover
juice and zest of 1 lemon added to pot to prevent apple browning
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    2 tbs ground cinnamon
    1 tsp ground nutmeg

Directions

Core and chop the apples (I prefer a mix of apples for better texture -1 granny smith, 1 rome, 1 empire, 1 winesap, 1 jonathon) Pears could also be used.

dump the apples into a pot
add enugh water to cover the apples
add the lemon juice

bring water to a boil then reduce heat and simmer... til the apples are tender.

mash up the apples to the desired degree of mashiness.

Really nice served slightly warm - with some granola and vanilla yogurt..
