Plain Scones

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    2 egg whites
    6 TBS sugar (or sugar substitute)
    1/2 cup low fat soy milk or skim milk
    3/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
    2 cups flour
    2 TBS baking powder

    Extra flour for rolling
    Cooking Spray

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray baking sheet with PAM or other non-stick spray.

Beat egg whites with sugar until stiff. Combine all ingredients, reserving about 1 TBS milk. Roll dough on floured surface and cut into desired shapes. Place scones on baking sheet and brush tops with remaining milk. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
