1 Box Barilla Whole Grain Penne
1 lb. Lean Ground Beef (93/7)
    1/2 medium white onion (chopped)
    1/2 green bell pepper (chopped)
    1Tbs Smoked Paprika
    2 Tbs Garlic Powder
    1/2 tsp Chili Powder
    sea salt (from grinder)
    black pepper (from grinder)
1 jar Ragu Robusto! Sauce (any)

Directions

Boil penne per instructions on box. Once fully cooked, drain the pasta and keep covered in pot.

Once ground beef has completely browned, turn down heat to medium low and season to taste with paprika, chili powder and remaining garlic powder. Add chopped green peppers and onions, cooking over medium low heat for 5 minutes. Preheat over to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Add meat and vegetables to the cooked penne, mixing thoroughly. Mix in jar of Ragu Robusto! sause and deposit into a 9x13 Pyrex baking dish. Top with 2 cups of mozzarella cheese and bake in over for 20-30 minutes or until cheese bubbles.

I thought this was very good and I'd make it again. It was a little dry and I would add just a bit more sauce, but other wise DELICIOUS :) - 10/30/08

  • I made this recipe last night, knowing today would be a really hard work day. I'm so glad I did! It was so nice to have the comfort food ready to just pop into the oven. The whole house smelled sooooo good. I used three cheese blend, as that was what I had. Very yummy, large portions. - 5/16/11

  • This was very yummy! We usually use regular penne noodles, marinara sauce, and no veggies, but this was a delicious change! - 11/2/08

Another good veggie addition that won't alter the calorie count terribly much are artichoke hearts!
