Ingredients
-
-1/2 cup rolled oats
-1/3 cup dried prunes
-1/2 apple
-1/3 cup milk or almond breeze
-1 egg
-6oz unsweetened apple juice
-10 almonds (or any nut)
-1 scoop protein powder
-1/2 cup water
-1/4 tsp cinnamon
-1/8 tsp salt (optional)
Directions
1. combine juice, water, oats, prunes, apples, nuts, cinnamon, salt and protein powder in medium saucepan.
2.bring boil over high heat
3. reduce heat and simmer uncover, stirring occasionally until thickened and water is absorbed (3-5 minutes for old fashion oats, 2-3 minutes for instant oats)
4. whisk together milk and egg
5. stir into hot cereal, simmer and stir for 1 minute.
6. serve immediately
