Fried Rice

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 cup uncooked rice
    2 cups cold water
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tbsp butter
    1 tbsp oil
    1 small onion
    1 cup frozen veggies
    2 tbsp soya sauce
    1 beaten egg

Directions

Put first three ingredients into saucepan. Bring to boil lifting rice once or twice. Do not stir. Reduce heat, cover , and simmer for 14 minutes or until rice is absorbed. In wok heat the oil and butter, add onions and stir fry 1 minute. Add cooked rice and stir until golden. Stir in frozen veggies and soya sauce, cover and steam cook for 2 minutes. Stir in beaten egg. Serve immediately after the egg sets.
