When do you add the tomatoes and why do you only add half the water? - 1/18/09

sorry i forget about the tomatoes ,please add it together with the chicken.but make sure the onions are well satuted. half of the water frist becoz we want the mixture to cook well and for the oil to see thru other wise u curry will have a different taste .add the remaining water at the end as neede

The instructions were very badly written: what size onion? when do I add the tomatoes? I love curry dishes but I didn't think this recipe was so great. I would try other recipes first. - 2/25/09

an average sized onion is approximately 50 calories and people have different attitude to it , some like the taste and smell of it and wouldn't mind it if the recipe has a stronger flavour of the onion. i didn't specify it becoz i believe cooking is an art and it shows individual prefferences.

its grams , i buy chicken thighs in 500-600gram pack and cut them into small pieces ,weigh them before i freeze them. i think its about 5-6 medium size pieces

The photo looks really yummy! Your recipe calls for 2 tbsp of Olive oil which is not in the nutrition data. I wonder what the true fat content would be? Could you please specify which brand and what kind of curry powder you use? I'd like to make it - bought all the ingredients-sitting in the fridge. - 7/12/09

I've been looking for a hearty traditional curry recipe for some time now. This was so easy to make and my friends all loved it! Thank you!
Also, adding 1/2 of a red hot chilli pepper really spices it up a notch :) - 11/16/08

what i do is add peppercorns in the begining and let it crackle and sometimes add dried red chilly into it .

I have tried many curry recipes, and this one comes the closest to what I am hoping for taste-wise without very much oil or fat. In my version I used peanut oil, garam masala plus turmeric (instead of chicken curry powder), and I added chopped carrots. Tasted great with generous portion size. - 6/16/11

My family loved this easy dish! Instead of water, I added a can of diced tomatoes, a small can of tomato sauce and fresh halved mushrooms and let the chicken and mushrooms cook in the sauce. I used ground ginger and this dish proved to be a new weekly meal for us! Thanks for delicious simplicity! - 1/13/10
