Number of Servings: 24

Ingredients

    1 1/4 cup water
    1/4 pound margarine
    1 cup oatmeal, uncooked quick
    1 cup raisens or dates
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 cup white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/3 cup + 1 tblsp. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg

    Topping:
    6 tblsp. soft margarine
    1/2 cup white sugar
    2 tblsp. milk
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1 cup coconut

Directions

Bring to boil: water and margarine.
Melt in margarine.
Let stand 15 minutes.
Stir in brown sugar, white sugar and eggs.
Add dry ingredients.
Bake in a greased 9 x 13 pan.
350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Topping:
Mix margarine, sugar, milk, coconut, vanilla.
Spread over warm cake.
Broil briefly to toast the coconut.
Cut into 24 pieces.
