Franc's Sugar Cookies

Introduction

I use unsalted butter. If someone has a workable substitute for the corn syrup, I would love to hear it. Not something I use a whole lot.

Number of Servings: 60

Ingredients

    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1 c butter
    2 eggs
    1/4 c. light corn syrup
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 tsp. baking powder

Directions

Combine sgar and butter in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed until blended. Add eggs, syrup and vanilla. Beat until well blended and fluffy. Combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Add gradually to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix until well blended. Divide dough into 4 quarters. Wrap each quarter in plastic wrap (sandwich bags work too) and refrigerate at least one hour. Heat oven to 375. Roll dough (1/4 at a time) to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out cookies with flowered cutter. Transfer to ungreased baking sheet with spatula. Place 1 inch apart. Bake 4-6 minutes depending on the size of the cutouts. DO NOT OVER-BAKE! Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Makes about 4-5 dozen
