Been craving soup but can't bring myself to accept the sodium in even the best store-bought versions. This is higher than I'd like there but lots of other good things in it. I chop the veggies ahead of time so that I can make this in a rush when needed. Been craving soup but can't bring myself to accept the sodium in even the best store-bought versions. Ingredients

12 oz. round steak, cut into 1-2 inch chunks
2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1 Tbsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. black pepper
3 carrots, sliced
2 cups celery, chopped
8 cups water
1 pkg. Knorr Spring Vegetable Recipe mix
.75 cup barley pearls
1 10oz. pkg frozen peas
1 Tbsp. garlic salt
Directions
Sear beef in olive oil with pepper and onion powder. Place in Crock pot. Pour some of the water into the pan to get the flavoring. Add carrots, celery, barley and recipe mix to crock pot. Put all water (including that in pan into crockpot. About 1/2 hour before eating, add frozen peas and garlic salt. Makes about 10 1 cup servings.
