Introduction

The store bought bread crumbs often come with high sodium, and lack any nutrition. So, I decided to use what I had, and I made my own healthified bread crumbs! The store bought bread crumbs often come with high sodium, and lack any nutrition. So, I decided to use what I had, and I made my own healthified bread crumbs!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    2 slices of pepperage farms light 7 grain bread
    1/4 c. Hodgson Mills wheat bran (can use wheat germ as well)
    1/4 c. almonds
    1 tbs. Flax seed (ground)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. rosemary
    1tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. garlic powder

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a blender or food proecessor. Pulse until crumbs are formed. Be careful not to puree, or it will turn mushy.

1/4 c.= 1 serving. (1lb. chicken needs approximately 1/2 c.)

Seasonings can be adjusted according to meal.
this recipe goes well with chicken parm, baked chicken, etc.
