Wonderful!! You must use low-fat brownie mix. Regular brownie mix doesn't work. Only way I now make brownies. Very moist. - 12/7/08

Simpliest of recipes- suggest using 9x13 pan rather than 9x9 pan for less dense brownies. Kids & husband couldn't even tell there was pumpkin in it. Great recipe! - 11/9/10

This was very good and moist! My kids (who kept saying they would NOT eat pumpkin) loved them! - 10/27/09

  • The texture was spongy and not very much like a brownie. I couldn't taste the pumpkin, but I couldn't taste very much chocolate either. Overall they were very bland. Will not try again. - 1/1/13

  • I was thinking of making these but after reading the comments "you can't even taste the pumpkin," I thought, why bother? - 10/18/12

  • Disgusting. I make a great pumpkin cake that is like this but with a spice cake mix so I thought I would love this. It had a nasty, bitter aftertaste. My 4 year old said she liked it but made a wierd face with every bite. Maybe there was something wrong with my pumpkin? Will not try again. - 3/10/12

  • Maybe I should try them using a larger pan size. Way to dense. - 1/24/12

  • has anyone tried this without using low-fat brownie mix? does it still work?? - 10/23/11

  • These hit the spot if your looking for something like a brownie, but a little healthier. I didn't think they had a brownie texture, more like a dense cake, but the taste is pretty good. - 2/22/11

  • I have to try these again with canned pumpkin. I used fresh pumpkin puree that I had in the freezer and I think it was too watery because the brownie had a weird texture. Love the idea though! - 3/26/09

  • So easy and fast. I freeze mine and use them for those critical just have to have chocolate moments. I love that I get the pumpkin as well. - 2/16/09

  • I love this recipe! However, i chill the brownies for atleast two hours before cutting and eating them, i believe they taste better cold (you won't even be able to taste the pumpkin when they are chilled) - 1/12/09

  • This sounds too good to be true and so simple. I'll have to make it this weekend and I'll let you know how it was. I love chocolate and so does my husband. - 12/4/08
