Ingredients
-
1 pound Extra Lean Ground Beef (96/4)
1 medium onions, diced
.5 small green pepper, diced
1 can Tomato Sauce
.5 can water
1 large can mushrooms, or 2 small cans (rinsed and drained, to lower the sodium)
1 package Old El Paso Taco Seasoning Mix (40% Less Sodium)
1 large can Del Monte Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes
1 regular sized can Del Monte Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes
1 can Bush's, Black Beans (rinsed and drained, to lower sodium)
Chili powder and red pepper to taste.
*Note: If you rinse and drain the mushrooms/beans it will lower the sodium, so the sodium listed in the nutritional info is incorrect.
Directions
Brown meat then, drain, and rinse in HOT water to remove as much grease as possible. Place meat back in pan along with diced onion and green pepper, cover and cook on low, until veggies are tender.
In crockpot add remaining ingredients, and meat mixture. Stir everything together, cover, and cook on high for 3-4 hours so spices can blend. Can also cook on low for 6-10 hours if desired.
