Quick Hungarian Style Goulash

Submitted by: BUBBLEBATHDUCKI

Introduction

This is a very delicious and comforting dish. Traditionally it is served with bread, but I serve mine over half a cup of rice per person. There is also controversy as to whether or not tomatoes should be added, I say leave them in if you like them take them out if you don't. Oh, and the original recipe uses cream but I use 1% milk. Ingredients

    1 cup cubed steak
    1 cup chopped onions
    1 cup chopped cherry tomatoes
    1 cup beef broth
    2 teaspoons salt
    2 teaspoons pepper
    2 tablespoons paprika
    1 cup red wine
    1/2 cup 1% milk

Directions

In a saute pan combine steak, onions, cherry tomatoes, salt, pepper and cook until meat is browned and the onions are starting to turn translucent. Add the paprika stir well, when all of the ingredients are coated add the red wine and bring to a boil to cook off the alcohol. Let the wine simmer for about three minutes then add beef broth, return to a boil and let cook until the liquid thickens into a sauce. Turn off the heat and stir in milk.
