Cranberry apple relish

Ingredients

1 package fresh cranberries, rinsed and cleaned
1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tsp ground cinnamon or ginger
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Bring to a boil on medium high heat. Reduce heat and simmer 5-10 minutes until the fruit is cooked and the mixture thickens. Remove from heat, stir in vinegar and optional cinnamon or ginger. Spoon into a heatproof container, cover with plastic wrap, and cool to room temperature. Store in the refrigerator.
Makes 6 servings of 1/2 cup each.
