I ended up halving all of the listed ingredients, so it would fit into my 5 qt crockpot. It filled my crockpot all the way to the top. This is such a delicious chili. I just used regular V8, (not spicy). I also used half a jalapeno, seeded and chopped. Delicious!!!!! - 12/14/08

Fantastic! It barely fit into my big crockpot! Nice and filling for very few calories per serving. I left out the celery and changed out the spicy V8 for regular. - 2/16/09

this is an awesome recipe; a few of my friends came over and I made this for dinner...there were 15 of us and by the end of the night, nothing was left. We had a pot luck dinner, and this was just awesome to serve to my friends.I highly suggest this recipe. - 12/22/08

  • I made it w/ the regular V8 - wasn't sure how many people liked their chili spicy - and it was good, but I definitely will make it w/ the spicy V8 next time. I also used fire roasted diced tomatoes and it added a nice flavor - super filling and great for cold winter weather! - 2/4/14

  • The chili was such a hit! My daughter LOVED it and keeps asking when I'm going to make it again. My son didn't like the beans so next time I will put his servings aside before adding the beans. I brought it to lunch at work and 2 co-workers asked for a taste and subsequently asked for the recipe. - 9/12/13

  • Next time I will 1/2 the recipe bc it did not fit in my crockpot. The photo I submitted above is of HALF the recipe. I was able reduce the sodium by over 50% by using NSA beans (black instead of white) and NSA tomato products. Reg.V8 + 1 jalapeno. My husband said it tastes like "restaurant chili." - 9/10/11

  • This was a great recipe. I wasn't sure if you used dry beans or canned. I used dry and soaked them overnight first. It took 2 crockpots and all of the 10 hours, but it was very yummy! - 1/12/09
