Ingredients

brownie:
¼ cup butter
1 cup brown sugar; loosely packed
1 egg
½ tsp vanilla
¾ cup wholewheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ cup chopped pecans
icing:
2 tbsp butter
¼ c brown sugar
2 tbsp 1% milk
1 cup icing sugar
Directions
brownie:
Melt butter in saucepan and add to sugar in a mixer bowl. Add egg and vanilla and mix. Stir in remaining ingredients, and spread into greased 8"x8" pan. Bake at 350F for about 35 minutes until sides just start to pull away from pan.
icing:
Combine butter, sugar, and milk in saucepan and bring to boil, and simmer (stirring) for 2 mins. Remove from heat and put into a mixer bowl. Add icing sugar and mix until smooth and creamy. Let cool (icing will thicken as it cools).
Let squares cool, then frost and cut into squares [approx. 25].
