Mariela's Lentil Soup

Introduction

This is the way my mom taught me how to make a lentil soup. I love lentils! This is the way my mom taught me how to make a lentil soup. I love lentils!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 cup. Lentils
    1/2 cup Tomatoes, chopped
    1/4 cup Onions, chopped
    2 tbs Cilatro, chopped (optional)
    1 slice Turkey Bacon
    1/2 tbs Olive Oil

    About 4-5 cups of water.

Directions

1. Heat a sauce pan and add canola oil.
2. Add onions and tomato and cook for a 1 or so.
4. Add the turkey bacon and cook for another minute.
5. Add the lentils, water, and top with cilantro.
6. Simmer for about 40 -45 minutes or until done.

Makes about 4, 1 cup servings
