Introduction

Cut out cookies could be served plain or decorated with Sugar cookie frosting and/or other decorative items. Cut out cookies could be served plain or decorated with Sugar cookie frosting and/or other decorative items.
Number of Servings: 48

Ingredients

    3/4 cup soft margarine
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    2 1/4 cup flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt

Directions

1. In a large bowl cream together margarine and sugar until smooth.
2. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
3. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.
4. Make into a ball, cover and chill dough 1 hour or overnight.
5. Pre heat oven to 400 F (200 C).
6. Roll out dough onto floured surface 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick.
7. Cut into shapes with any cookie cutter.
8. Place cookies close together on ungreased cookie sheet.
9. Bake for 6 - 8 minutes, or until bottoms start turning brown.
10. cool completely before adding decorations.
Makes 4 dozen average size cookies.
