Lighter Banana Nut Bread

Ingredients

    1.5 c. sugar
    1.5 c. splenda
    1 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    4 egg whites
    2 T. vanilla
    1.5 c. buttermilk
    2 t. baking soda
    4 c. sifted flour
    3 mashed bananas
    1 c. chopped almonds

Directions

Cream sugars and shortening, add eggs one at a time. Mix well and add vanilla. Combine soda and buttermilk, stir well. Add flour and buttermilk alternating beginning and ending with flour. Add bananas and nuts. Bake in a well greased and floured tube pan or 2 - 8" loaf pans at 300 for 2 hours.
