Hattie's Breakfast

Ingredients

    1 large apple or two small
    1 cup cooked brown rice
    handful of nuts
    cinnamon
    2 tbsp raw sugar or 1 tbsp honey
    1 tsp butter or low-fat subsitute or spray

Directions

Peel, core and slice apple.
Sautee apple for a few minutes in skillet with small amount of butter, butter substitute or spray.
Add cinnamon and honey or sugar.
Add brown rice and nuts and stir all.
As soon as the rice is heated and everything is mixed, it's ready.

You can also toast the nuts before adding, if you like, and add raisins, prunes or even figs. I have also used sesame seeds when I didn't have any nuts.
