Hot Apple Porridge

Introduction

It's like eating dessert for breakfast! It's like eating dessert for breakfast!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 cup quick cooking or regular oats
    2 cups skim milk
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1 cup finely chopped apple
    1/2 cup raisins, optional
    1/2 cup walnuts, optional
    Raisins are included in calorie count, walnuts are not included.

Directions

1. Combine ingredients in a regular size pot.
2. Bring to boil over medium high heat while constantly stirring so milk doesn't burn.
3. Reduce heat and simmer a few minutes or until porridge reaches desired consistency.

Great served with milk or yogurt.
