Boston Brown Bread

Number of Servings: 30

Ingredients

    1 c cornmeal
    2 c whole wheat flour
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp baking soda
    2 c buttermilk
    2/3 c molasses
    1 c raisins

Directions

Mix all ingredients.
Pour into 5 small cans or pint jars
Cover jars loosely
Place on steamer rack in pan with 2.5" water
Cover pan
Steam ~45 minutes

Watch water doesn't boil away.

May steam on stovetop or in oven

Cool...remove from cans/jars
Cut into 1' slices
