Slow-cooker Bison Stew

I love bison and it's great cooked in stew. I love bison and it's great cooked in stew.Number of Servings: 8
Ingredients

1 lb bison
2 (10-oz) pkg soup vegetables
2 (28-oz) cans petite diced tomatoes
1 (15-oz) can beef broth (reduced sodium)
1 tsp ground thyme
1 tbsp oregano
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp cayenne
12 oz ale
1 cup uncooked brown rice
2 cans water
Directions
Cut bison into bite-size pieces. Combine tomatoes, vegetables, spices, water and bison in crock pot. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours. Increase to HIGH for 20 min. Add brown rice and cook on HIGH for 2 hours. Reduce to LOW again and add ale. Cook for 2 hours on low. Serve with a nice crusty whole grain bread (not included)

One of the local grocery stores periodically carries it..otherwise, I order it online from Arrowhead Farms. They are in Ohio, so I usually get it overnight from them.
