Introduction

This tasty chickpea puree appears in a number of Mediterranean cuisines and is a fantastic, healthy, high-protein alternative to typically fatty dips and spreads. Try it with veggies, whole grain bread, or on a sandwich. Teni suggests a hummus and tomato sandwich on whole wheat pita. Yummy! Ingredients

    1 can chickpeas
    1/4 cup lemon juice
    1/4 cup olive oil
    4 cloves garlic
    3 Tbsp. tahini
    Salt to taste

Directions

Put first four ingredients in a food processor or blender and mix until chickpeas are mashed. Then add tahini and mix again for about a minute. Add salt, if you want it.
