15 bean soup

Ingredients

    1 package Hursts Hambeens 15 bean soup with sesaoning pkt
    1/2 lb pork neck bones, seared
    5-6 large carrots cut into coins
    1 large onion, diced
    1 15 oz. can no salt tomatoes, diced or stewed
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    juice of 1 lemon
    1 tsp chili powder

Directions

Soak beans in 2 qts water overnight or for 8 hours. Drain.
Place beans in large stockpot or dutch oven with 8 c. water, neck bones and carrots. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to simer, simmer uncovered for 2 1/2 hours. After simmering add onion, tomatoes, chili powder, lmeon juice and garlic. SImmer for 30 minutes.
Add contents of seasoning pkt 1-2 minutes before serving.
1 serving is 1 1/2 c.
