Mrs. Brenda's Lima Bean SoupSubmitted by: 2SWEETGIRLS
IntroductionA delicious, creamy soup that's satisfying and healthy. This recipe is from my sister's mother-in-law. A delicious, creamy soup that's satisfying and healthy. This recipe is from my sister's mother-in-law.
1 lb. bag dried baby limas (white or green)
2 onions (chopped)
3 carrots (grated)
3 celery stalks (finely chopped)
1 lb. cooked ham, diced (I use a 97% fat free ham steak)
2 qt. chicken broth (8 cups) - I use Swanson's Natural Goodness Chicken Broth
Salt & Pepper to taste
**This is super when you add a handful or two or fresh spinach just before serving. Grated parmesan cheese is also a nice finish. Yummy served with a warm piece of a chewy bread loaf or roll. These additions are not included in the nutritional information.
Makes approximately 13 - 1 Cup servings.

I would never make this soup because of the 1,511.00 sodium count. Why is it so high - 1/8/09

I accidentally added too much salt to the nutrition content - sorry! I'll try to fix it! Thanks for catching that for me!
