lower fat sausage, cream cheese and rotel dip

Submitted by: SPEEDIRN

Introduction

this is a great dip and I used lower fat varieties of the ingredients to make it healthier. It was great like this and people at our football party loved it. I usually prepare mine in the crockpot. this is a great dip and I used lower fat varieties of the ingredients to make it healthier. It was great like this and people at our football party loved it. Directions

Brown the sausage in a pan, drain any grease from the browned sausage. Pour into crock pot. Cube the cream cheese and add to crock pot. Drain most of the juice from the rotel and add to crock pot. Cook in crock pot until cream cheese melted, stir occasionally.

  • Great recipe! I have always used Velvetta and Sage sausage in the past. To make it with less calories I would use 2% Velvetta. It was the Sage sausage that always made it different from everyone elses! Don't know if you can find that lite or fat-free. If you can please let me know! - 10/3/09

I had made the full fat version frequently and tried the lower fat version yesterday and so some of my guests who are dieting were really impressed when they found out this was better for them. I had very little left.
