1. Layer 1st 9 ingredients in slow cooker in order listed.
2. cover. Cook on high 4-5 hours.
3. Stir in milk.
4. Discard bay leaves before serving.

    1lb pkg. dried split pease
    2 c. fully cooked lean ham, diced
    1 c. diced carrots
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 cloves of garlic, minced
    2 bay leaves
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp pepper
    5 c. boiling water
    1.5 c. hot skim milk

  • I have used this recipe for a few years. I dissolve about 1 tablespoon of ham soup base to a cup of boiling water when adding the water to soup. I got the recipe off a Weight Watchers message board. It is one of my favorite soups. - 11/7/11
