Grilled Salad

Submitted by: OIL_FIELD_WIFE

Introduction

This is a great way to eat a salad if your tired of cold lettuce. You can top with your favorite dressing, but I think it is good without dressing. This is a great way to eat a salad if your tired of cold lettuce. You can top with your favorite dressing, but I think it is good without dressing.
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    1 Romaine Lettuce head
    1 Tomato (I like Roma)
    2 Tbsp Olive Oil
    Salt and Pepper

Directions

Break lettuce head in half. Seperate leaves and cut off end. Slice tomato in half and remove seeds with your finger.
Drizzle the lettuce and tomato with Olive Oil and season with Salt and Pepper.
Place lettuce and tomato (flesh side down) on the grill. Cook about 3-5 minutes - flip and cook an additional 3 minutes. Watch the lettuce closely you don't want it to burn, but a little char at the ends makes it really good.
Remove from grill and chop lettuce and tomatoes into bite sized pieces.
You can eat as is or drizzle with some dressing.
Serves 2.
