Pizza Pasta Casserole

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef
1/2 onion chopped
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1/2 package 16 oz. spiral pasta cooked and drained
2 cups shredded lowfat mozzarella cheese
4 ounces sliced pepperoni
Directions
In a large skillet, cook beef until meat is no longer pink; drain and rinse the meat in hot water and set aside. Cook the onion in the same skillet until tender. Add ground beef back to skillet. Stir in spaghetti sauce and pasta. Transfer to a greased 13x9x2" baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Arrange pepperoni over the top. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

You can certainly change the ingredients to suit your diet. This is the way I make it at home, so that is how it's calculated.

This is my second time making this. To bring down the calorie count for me, I put some of the dish in a 8x8 baking dish and the rest in a 9x13 dish. The 8x8 dish is mine as it only has a small portion of the ingredients: 1 cup cheese, 30g pepperoni, 4-8 ozs of meat and only some of the pasta. - 1/28/12
