Number of Servings: 8
1/2 pound ground beef or sausage 1/2 onion, chopped 1 recipe for my easy marinara sauce (you can use jarred sauce) 1 box whole wheat spiral pasta cooked and drained, reserving about 3/4 cups starchy liquid 1 1/2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese 1 serving turkey pepperoni 1 cup green pepper strips
Cook pasta according to package directions, reserving 3/4 cup cooking liquid to thin the sauce, if desired. Meanwhile, cook the beef until no longer pink. Drain and set aside. Cook the onion in the same skillet, until tender. Add ground beef back to skillet. Stir in marinara sauce and pasta. Transfer to a greased 13x9x2" baking dish. Sprinkle with the cheese. Arrange pepperoni, peppers, and additional pizza toppings over the top. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
Oh my word, this was just YUM!! Used turkey pepperoni, ground turkey, whole wheat rotini with Prego meat spaghetti sauce. Recipie divides nicely into 6 portions. 8 is a bit small without some kind of side dish.
I double the recipe and put into two 9x13 pans and instead of baking, I freeze them for later. To serve: I take out of the freezer the night before to thaw in the refridgerator. Then bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until heated through!
Very easy to make! Made some substitutions with ingredients that I typically use (ground turkey, fat free cheese, turkey pepperoni, etc.) and got it down to about 205 calories / 4.5 fat per serving (12 servings in total). It was delicious, thank you for the wonderful idea!
We like! I used ground turkey because it's healthier. I think the next time I will buy the Italian seasoned ground turkey and that will really add to the recipe. We also used gluten free pasta. The pepperoni adds a little something extra. It's a keeper.
My kids actually ate it! I used a can of italian tomatos instead of the spaghetti sauce. I only had 12oz of spiral noodles so I added 4 oz Orzo pasta, it was really good. I like the idea of adding more toppings to it so next time I will try that.
My family really enjoyed it. We will be making it again. I added some pizza seasoning to the beef for some extra flavor (I didn't rinse it in hot water) and will add some more next time around.
My girls are just too picky so even this, they pick something out! :) I thought it was okay, I couldn't put my finger on it but something was missing in the flavor. It's good for those quick " I really don't want to cook, but hubby is asking on a Friday night" dishes.
This is my second time making this. To bring down the calorie count for me, I put some of the dish in a 8x8 baking dish and the rest in a 9x13 dish. The 8x8 dish is mine as it only has a small portion of the ingredients: 1 cup cheese, 30g pepperoni, 4-8 ozs of meat and only some of the pasta.
Good recipe. I have one similar to this where the pasta is mixed with cheddar cheese and egg and is cooked first as the base for the sauce and toppings. It is the "crust." I also add green peppers and mushrooms to the top of this "pizza."
Absolutely love this recipe! Have made it twice and everyone in the family loves it! Be sure to use good quality ingredients for best taste (avoid kroger brand - gets too greasy and bland after cooked)

OMG this was awesome. My 2 and 11 year olds love it. They asked for more and more. My 2 year old came back later in the evening wanting more "noodles'. He barely eats at all! I fought the urge to go back too. Delish and definitely will make over and over again.
I've been saving this recipe to try it looks SO good!!! Followed the directions, mostly, added some assorted bell peppers, fresh spinach cut up, and Italian seasonings. What a great fun meal for the family! Thanks for the idea!
This was so delicious! I made it with ground turkey and barilla plus pasta and also added a green pepper. It was so great and my fiance absolutely loved it! Next time I think I might add some spinach or broccoli.
I revised this some using ground turkey, whole what pasta and fat free cheese. It brought the calories down to 396 and the fat to 13.9 and raised the fiber to 5.1 But overall it is a great recipe! Thank you for sharing!
