Taco Salad

Introduction

I was given this recipe by a friend at a high school reunion and use it often at pot luck suppers. It is very popular.

Hint: If you are taking it to a function, add the dressing, cheese and chips just before serving.

Number of Servings: 20

Ingredients

    2 lb. lean ground beef
    1 package taco seasoning
    1 head of lettuce, shredded
    2 tomatoes, chopped and seeded
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 bunch green onions, chopped
    4 medium carrots, shredded
    3 stalks of celery, chopped
    2 c. cheddar cheese, grated
    1 large bag nacho chips, crushed
    1/2 c. Kraft Free French Dressing
    1/2 c. taco sauce

Directions

Spray a frypan with cooking spray and brown the ground beef. When it is fully cooked add the taco seasoning as per the package instructions. Set aside to cool. This can be made the night before and put in the salad container in the fridge.
Prepare all of the other vegetables and add to the meat mixture. Stir well.
Mix the French dressing and the taco sauce together.
Stir into salad mixture. Add cheese, stir again. Add chips and stir once more.
