Ingredients
-
For crust:
1 1/4 c. white flour
1/2 c. vegetable spread (like Country Crock)
1/4 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. ice water
For filling:
5 large eggs
3/4 c. skim milk
2 c. 2% shredded mexican blend cheese
6 slices bacon
3 Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage Patties
Salt & Pepper to taste
Directions
Whisk together flour and salt in a bowl.
Using a pastry cutter (or a fork), cut in shortening until it forms small clumpy bits.
Slowly add water, one tablespoon at a time, and mix. Continue adding up to 3 tbsp until dough is blended.
Wrap in saran wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes.
While dough is chilling, scramble 5 eggs, milk, and cheese.
Slice bacon into small bits, and cook.
Heat breakfast sausages in microwave for approximately 1 min 30 seconds, or until warm. Dice them up.
Mix meat into egg mixture and stir.
Once 30 minutes has passed, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove dough from refrigerator, and roll out to desired thickness (approximately a circle of 10-11" in diameter works perfectly)
Put dough into greased pie tin.
Add filling.
Bake at 350 for approximately 50 minutes, or until top is golden and a knife comes out clean.
