Peanut Butter Marshmallow Treats

Submitted by: GINNYPENNY

Introduction

Decadant peanut butter crispy treats. Decadant peanut butter crispy treats.
Number of Servings: 24

Ingredients

    6 cups Crisped Rice Cereal
    3/4 cups Natural Peanut Butter
    4 cups miniture marshmallows
    1 bag Reese's Pieces Candy (1.6 ounces)

Directions

Melt Peanut Butter and Marshmallows in a large sauce pan, stir constantly. When melted and smooth stir in Cereal and Candy. Press into a rectangle baking dish or molds with wet hands (so they don't get sticky). Cut into 24 squares when cool. Store covered in plastic wrap so they stay soft.
At 107 calories a square I think these taste better than the popular 100 calorie packs on the grocery store shelf, and cheaper. They pack well for school or work lunches.

Number of Servings: 24

sounds great. I will try it. for those who think it's too sweet or has too much fat, think sugar free Reeses (yes they make them & they taste good) & as far as the fat, it's a good fat because it's a protein as well. This is a TREAT remember! - 12/14/08

I used the microwave to melt the marshmallows and peanut butter. Heat the peanut butter for about 30 seconds stir and add half the marshmallows. Heat again for 30-45 seconds, stir and repeat with remaining marshmallows. - 5/28/09

Loved them...peanut butter is a healthy fat so didn't feel guilty eating one. Better than the 100 calories snacks that I buy in the store. Will make them again for sure and going to share some with my friends. Always looking for a good snack besides fruit and glad I found one. - 6/12/08

It's a treat, not something to eat everyday or at every meal. At 107 calories, it's not a diet-buster. I'm not overly concerned about the healthy aspect for 107 calories. - 6/11/08

These aren't healthy but are yummy. Sparks is designed for healthy recipes but part of being healthy is allowing yourself a treat every now and then. If you can't handle left overs or are offended by fat-skip by this recipe. We should rate what we try--not what we judge by the calorie counter. - 4/3/07

Honestly for 107 calories this isn't bad at all! This treat makes a great reward for maybe having a great day with your eating and exercising or to help with a sweet tooth craving without ruining your whole day calorie wise! - 4/14/07

Thanks for posting! It is a nice option for people who would like to make a treat. I agree with those of you telling other people to lighten up. If you cannot eat treats, why are you looking at the recipes? Why would you be so rude to the poster? Play nice people! - 11/11/09

Lighten up guys! This is way better than other empty calorie treats (good fat, protein), and I'm not on a diet, I'm changing my lifestyle... which means I still get to have treats! - 7/26/08

This sounds like a good recipe. Nothing unhealthy about peanut butter. You can always use low-fat peanut butter and still get the protein. Lighten up people, peanut butter has protein which we all need for muscles..better than a fatty piece of meat. - 2/28/09
