Introduction

I've been making this for years - it's an indulgence, but is easy to throw together for company! I've been making this for years - it's an indulgence, but is easy to throw together for company!
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 box penne/ziti noodles
    1 onion
    3 garlic cloves, minced
    1 lb lean ground beef
    2 tbsp basil
    2 tbsp oregano
    1 can (26 oz) Hunts garlic & herb sauce
    2 cups skim mozzarella shredded

Directions

Preheat to 350. Bring water to a boil & add pasta - cook for 8 minutes, then drain.

While pasta is cooking, saute onion, garlic cloves & ground beef. (may want to add a splash of extra light olive oil to saute the onions). Cook until browned - careful not to burn the garlic or will make the dish bitter. Drain.

Mix cooked pasta, beef mix & basil, oregano and can of sauce well. Place in greased 13x9 casserole dish.

Bake 20 minutes - remove from oven & top with mozzarella cheese. Bake remaining 30 minutes, or until cheese melted.
