1 cup water
2 medium carrots, bias-sliced
1/2 of a vegetable bouillon cube
1.5 cups pea pods
16 oz garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup quick-cooking couscous
.5 cup skim milk
1 teaspoon dried savory
.25 teaspoon garlic powder
.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
Stir chickpeas, uncooked couscous, milk, savory, garlic powder, and pepper into vegetable mixture. Bring just to boiling. Remove from heat; cover and let stand for 5 minutes.
Makes 4 servings.
