Ingredients

2 cups Split Peas
14 oz chicken or beef broth
2 medium chopped carrots
half a small chopped onion
onion powder
1 or 2 bay leaves
pepper
salt
3.5-4 cups water
Directions
Put peas in large pot with water, broth, onions, bay leaves, and other spices. Bring to boil, then simmer for at least 40 min. Add carrots, and simmer another 10-20 min. If soup gets too thick, add some water, a quarter cup at a time.
