Deep Dish Pumpkin Pie

Introduction

I got this receipe over 30 years ago from a former co-worker. Everyone loves it. You can cut calories and sugars by using nonfat milk and splenda, but for the holidays splurge. Nutritional info does not include pie shell as some people make own others buy premade. I don't eat the pie shell anyway. I got this receipe over 30 years ago from a former co-worker. Ingredients

    1 - 20 oz. can pumpkin
    1.25 cups evaporated milk
    4 large eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp ginger
    1/2 tsp mace
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tbsp vanilla extract
    2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
    1 cup brown sugar mixed with 2 tbsp. flour
    2 tbsp. butter

Directions

1. Beat eggs until thick
2. Add pumpkin, sugar, flour, butter, spices, milk
3. Add vanilla & lemon juice
4. Pour into a 9" deep dish pie shell
5. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes then reduce heat to 375 and bake another 30-40 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
