Spaghetti Sauce

Introduction

This is a nice thick sauce with a flavor that is not overpowering. I like to serve it over spaghetti squash. This is a nice thick sauce with a flavor that is not overpowering. I like to serve it over spaghetti squash.
Number of Servings: 32

Ingredients

    1 lb. ground venison
    1 lb. ground beef (extra lean)
    1 large green bell pepper (chopped)
    1 large onion (chopped)
    2 large cloves garlic (chopped)
    2 qts. tomato juice (I use home canned)
    2 small cans tomato paste
    2 small cans tomato sauce
    2 tbsp. dried parsley
    2 tsp. dried sweet basil
    2 tsp. dried oregano
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 tsp. salt

Directions

Brown meat with onions, green pepper and garlic in large pot. Mix tomato paste, tomato sauce and tomato juice in large bowl, stirring until smooth, add parsley, basil, oregano, salt and sugar and stir until mixed. Pour into pot with browned meat and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours. Makes approx. 32 1/2 cup servings.
