Slater's Meatloaf

Introduction

This is a new recipe for me to put together as I am combining the ingredients I like from different recipes, including my mothers meatloaf recipe. It's fairly low in carbs and fat and has a good bite to it! It's fairly low in carbs and fat and has a good bite to it!
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 lb Ground Turkey
    1 lb Lean Ground Beef
    1/2 cup picante sauce
    1 cup Tomato Sauce
    1/2 cup egg beaters
    1/2 chopped onion
    1/3 cup chopped parsley
    1/2 cup bread crumbs
    1/2 cup shredded cheese
    1 tsp oregano
    1 tsp basil
    ground pepper to taste

Directions

Combine all ingredients together with only 1/2 cup of the tomato sauce and place into a loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for @ 45 minutes - 1 hour or until meat is fully cooked. The last 15 minutes or so put the remainder of the tomato sauce on the meat loaf. When finished cooking let stand for 10-15 minutes before serving. Makes 10-12 servings, depending on how large you cut the pieces (nutritional information is base on 12 servings for the loaf).
