Spicy Oatmeal Cran-Apple Cookies

Introduction

This is a copy of the recipe on here called "Oatmeal Applesauce Low Fat Cookies ". I didn't use Splenda, and didn't have as much Craisins as it called for, and used regular sugar over brown, so I wanted to get a more accurate calorie count. Number of Servings: 48

Ingredients

    2/3 cup raw sugar (or regular)
    2 cups unsweetened applesauce
    2 2/3 cups whole wheat flour
    2 3/4 tsps. baking powder
    1 1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp cloves
    1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
    2 1/4 cups old fashioned oatmeal
    1/3 cup raisins (or craisins)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease cookie sheet
In a medium bowl - stir sugars and applesauce. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and the cinnamon. Stir dry mix into applesauce mixture. Add the Oatmeal and raisins. Place about 1 TBS mounds on cookie sheet and bake around 10 mins.

  • These are easy to make and have lots of flavour, especially as there's no butter or egg. I didn't have raisins, so I used chopped dried mango instead. Because they're so low calorie, next time I think I'll add some chocolate chips and maybe walnuts instead. Thanks for the recipe! - 10/21/11
